A Leader You Can Trust
Planning for the future, solving the now.
Sponsored and drove the citizen-led strategic plan that just won national accolades – one of three awards given out by National Association of Counties (NACo). There are over 3,000 counties in the United States.
Fully funded cyclical road resurfacing in the county beginning fiscal year 23/24, after decades of being funded at a small fraction of what it takes to keep up.
Successfully led lobbying in Tallahassee for initial grant funding of $3.855 million to begin restoring the (District 5, her district) Tsala Apopka lakes to their former glory. This pilot project follows the same path as what has happened with the state-leading, hugely successful Save Crystal River and Homosassa Restoration Project. Holly lent her voice to both of those projects continuing to be funded, along with infrastructure projects and sewer grant funding.

Protecting the nature coast.
Holly Davis has a unique duality in her background – she is both a hometown girl who loves the outdoors and natural resources, but has also lived in several other states and has experienced firsthand, as a citizen, what worked and didn’t work, with land use and planning. She is a fierce advocate for protecting our waterways, pushing for stronger tree ordinances and for developers to prioritize environmentally friendly landscaping. She voted for an ordinance to ban gas stations and similar businesses from being built near our precious springs.
Voted 5th Best Place to Retire in Florida for 2023 and 2024
This honor is due to low taxes, quality medical care, and social opportunities. We need to keep this, and do even better! We must protect our ag lands whenever possible, and recruit high-paying employers to move here. Residents in total cost the county government more in services than they pay in ($1.50 cost per $1 paid in) while ag costs 30 cents to service, and businesses 70 cents. Having more economic development protects the low taxes we have, and can even lower them further.
It also fosters more choice and quality in medical care, allows our kids and grandkids to stay and build their careers here in Citrus County.
