Letter to the Editor by Bow Smith
I was astounded to read Mike Wright’s recent article suggesting that Commissioner Holly Davis’ opposition has a remote chance of winning. This possibility feels disconnected from the reality I have experienced over the last four years under her leadership. Holly Davis has been a true jewel of Citrus County, dedicated to protecting our farmlands, preserving our community values and tirelessly working to improve the lives of all residents.
Commissioner Davis has not only been a staunch advocate for preserving our county’s agricultural heritage, but she has also proven time and again her commitment to preserving the Nature Coast. She understands the importance of farmlands and rural character that makes Citrus County unique. Her protectiveness on these issues has earned her the respect of farmers, business owners and residents alike.
In addition to her strong environmental stewardship, Holly Davis has championed initiatives that promote economic development without compromising the integrity of our community. Her forward-thinking approach has attracted businesses, improved infrastructure and enhanced public services—all while maintaining fiscal responsibility. What’s most impressive is her ability to listen and lead with compassion.
It’s clear that Commissioner Holly Davis deserves our ongoing support and gratitude for her dedicated service because dealing with Citrus Public is a tough job. We as a community should be thankful every day for the incredible work she does to protect and strengthen our county.
I urge my fellow citizens to recognize her accomplishments and continue to support her vision for a thriving and sustainable Citrus County. Vote for Holly!
