Don’t drop emergency declaration

Don’t drop emergency declaration

Letter to the Editor, as published in the Citrus County Chronicle May 12, 2020:

This is in response to Jimmie T. Smith’s two articles in the May 11 paper. First, it is not the time yet to drop the emergency declaration for our county. The cases are still rising here. We do not need everything opened up yet. I certainly hope Ron Kitchen and Scott Carnahan do not agree with this idea. This is going against the governor’s emergency instructions. And what happened to the federal government’s two week downward trend before we open anything up? We haven’t even flattened the curve in Citrus County.

Secondly, I wonder how Smith was able to wrangle his way into his new job position. Have fun in your new job Jimmie because I don’t think you can beat Holly Davis and you changed districts in order to not get beaten by Ruthie Schlabach. Maybe the new job won’t pan out and you will actually have to work for a living.
