Candidates reveal personal finances in disclosure forms

By reporter Mike Wright, as published in the Citrus County Chronicle June 21, 2020:

Five millionaires — at least on paper — are among the candidates on this year’s ballot, including an incumbent state legislator and a former commissioner who both reported net worth in eight figures.

Candidates who qualify for the ballot complete financial disclosure forms, listing assets, liabilities, income and net worth. To see the details, go to www.votecitrus.com.

Former commissioner Scott Adams, a Republican running for supervisor of elections, shows a net worth of $26,835,000. He values at $10 million the approximate 1,000 acres of land he owns on Istachatta Road in Floral City, plus $3.8 million in U.S. Treasury bonds and $3.5 million in companies he owns.

Adams has no liabilities, according to the report. He lists $300,000 in income — $100,000 each from interest on the Treasury notes, Scott Adams Construction and “miscellaneous” income.

District 34 State Rep. Ralph Massullo, R-Lecanto, shows a net worth of $46,126,488. His assets include a $2.8 million residence, $1.7 million second home and $5 million Suncoast Dermatology and Skin Center PA in Lecanto.
